My GiftsHow This Works
Short Version:
- You (Donors & Recipients) first sign up - it's free (see why) and you provide your location (see why). Our database is inhouse, not for sale or shared. We just match your wishes and your stuff.
- You click on the activation link in your email and log in.
- You can post unlimited gifts and / or wishes 24/7.
- You can view / add / edit / delete / duplicate your gifts and / or wishes 24/7.
- You (donors) when posting gifts can choose 2 options:
- I'm Busy, check box, that allows the donor to "Match and automatically give the first Recipient to request the donor's email and create a waiting list for the rest."
- I'm Choosy, check box, that gives the donor a waiting list of Recipient's Requests so donor can browse and choose who to email.
- We automatically send POTENTIAL MATCH email alerts 24/7 to all recipients with wishes that match nearby gifts.
- You (recipients and donors) will receive automatic emails once REQUEST MATCH is clicked to help you contact each other and arrange a convenient pick up / drop off. (see why)
- We automatically COMPLETE the match and generate a TAX RECEIPT 2 weeks after the requested match.
- You (recipients and donors) can CANCEL for rematch / COMPLETE for TAX RECEIPT / EDIT or VOID tax receipts at any time.

- You (Donors & Recipients) first sign up - it's free (see why) and you provide your location (see why). Our database is inhouse, not for sale or shared. We just match your wishes and your stuff.
- You click on the activation link in your email and log in
- You can post unlimited gifts and / or wishes 24/7
- You can view / add / edit / delete / duplicate your gifts and / or wishes 24/7
- You (donors) when posting gifts can choose 2 options:
- I'm Busy check box lets donor "Match and automatically give the first Recipient to request the donor's email and create a waiting list for the rest."
- I'm Choosy check box lets donor "Match but don't provide donor's email to recipients. Instead only provide donor with a waiting list of Recipient's Requests so donor can browse and choose who to email."
- We automatically send POTENTIAL MATCH email alerts 24/7 to all recipients with wishes that match nearby gifts.
- You (recipients) log in, view your POTENTIAL MATCHES and click REQUEST MATCH for gifts you want (shown on your dashboard and in the menu under MY WISHES) or just IGNORE email alerts, if you're busy that day.
PLEASE NOTE: Request Matches are on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED and WAITING LIST basis.
- You (donors) will get an email with first Recipient's contact email and can also log in and view the WAITING LIST of all REQUESTED MATCHES FOR MY GIFTS (shown on your dashboard and in the menu under MY GIFTS). Donors can complete / cancel / rematch (no explanations required - it's all about the flow) 24/7
- You (recipients and donors) will receive automatic emails once REQUEST MATCH is clicked to help you contact each other and arrange a convenient pick up / drop off. (see why)
PLEASE NOTE: Dashboards are in real time. Look there for current potential and requested matches, emails may be quickly out of date for popular items.
- We provide 1 reminder follow up repeat email after 3 days.
- You (donors and recipients) may CANCEL a Requested Match at any time (no explanation necessary) Please click and cancel responsibly and keep the flow moving. The goal is to keep things out of the waste stream! There will always be more wishes and gifts.
PLEASE NOTE: Only 1 current match can exist at a time for processing Tax Receipts
- You (donors and recipients) can click on COMPLETED MATCH at any time after gift transfer to generate the tax receipt which shows up under your Manage My Account tab.
- We automatically COMPLETE the match and generate a TAX RECEIPT 2 weeks after the requested match.
- You (donors and recipients) can always CANCEL a Completed match at any time (for rematching with others, if transfer didn't go through). Cancelled matches that had generated Tax Receipts will show RECIEPT as VOIDED under MANAGE MY ACCOUNT.
- You (donor) can always EDIT a completed post (if more or less items were transferred to recipient at that time), CANCEL and rematch or CANCEL and DELETE your gift (if it was dumped or donated elsewhere). These actions also edit or mark VOID the generated tax receipt.
- You (donors and recipients) can also use BROWSE and POTENTIALLY MATCH with other members' current wishes and gifts.
- You (donors and recipients) can also use BROWSE PARTICIPANTS who have asked to be visible and promote their green businesses. Also, check out our Past Matches history for ideas.
