About
our Leftovers Raffle
Excess Access
first matches all donations with nonprofit wishlists, but sometimes items
can't find homes with nonprofits before donors' disposal deadlines. After
4 days, when leftover items are at risk of being dumped, our public charity
Matter of Trust.org virtually accepts them and offers them to the general
public through this Leftovers Raffle.
Don't let
useful things you need get sent off to overflowing landfills - Browse
the Leftovers Raffle - but first please read the info below to
understand how it works!
THE GOOD NEWS - There is only ONE raffle ticket per item(s) posting -
so you always win!
THE OTHER
NEWS - There is occasionally the risk that a donor may have disposed of
item(s) without alerting us. This is why we call it a Raffle and not a
Thrift-store. It costs us to run this, and so the fairest way we've found
to do this is by alerting you of the risk and making the raffle tickets
only $3.00, even though the items are often worth $100.00 or more.
RECIPIENTS
(raffle ticket holders) are responsible for PICK-UP (and/or delivery costs)
of the item(s).
- Recipients
should only consider items they are willing to pick up. Therefore, recipients
should pay careful attention to the item's size, location proximity,
quantity, described condition... BEFORE before purchasing the raffle
ticket.
- Postings
are not divided. Unlike with the donations, raffle item(s) may be 1
chair or 12 chairs but the recipient is responsible for picking up entire
amount of item(s) in the posting.
- Donors
of items still get their tax-deductible receipts as our public charity
has virtually accepted the donation(s) before redistributing the item(s)
to the general public.
- Donors
decide if their item can be put up for the Leftovers Raffle should there
be no nonprofit takers. So not all leftover postings go to raffle.
- Item(s)
are offered on the Leftovers Raffle after being offered through Excess
Access to nonprofits for at least 4 days with no takers.
- Matter
of Trust, Excess Access and Donor(s) all reserve the right to pull item(s)
from the Leftovers Raffle for any reason, as long as a raffle ticket
purchase has not been finalized for the item(s).
-
IF YOU ARE A NONPROFIT – please do NOT purchase a raffle ticket
(save your money). The item should still be in your Action Items under
Potential Matches unless you clicked on Not Interested. If it's not,
and you've decided you want it after all - please email
us your account # and the item # and we'll pull the donation from the
raffle and reserve it for you.
-
All raffle ticket sales are on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
All items are AS IS, there are NO RETURNS nor raffle ticket REFUNDS.
- Excess
Access and Matter of Trust are not responsible for delivery, logistics,
broken materials or damage due to any accident or incident involving
subscribers' donations and/or raffle ticket items and/or services arising
from any cause whatsoever.
