Excess Access is coordinating the database for this Matter of Trust hair clipping recycling program.

First you sign up to the database by clicking on Register below.

Then you collect hair clippings (no metal clips, cigarettes, lighters, perm papers etc. - just hair) in plastic trash bags.

Salons are responsible for mailing in the hair in boxes (most use the boxes shampoo supplies come in) to the depots where the oil spill mats are made.

We ask that salons post the weight and postage paid under "Donations - Recycled Hair" so we can collect data for future grants that we hope will help with your postage costs.

We are very grateful for salon participation in this program. We have many projects and this is by far the most inspirational and delightful. Everyone gets their hair cut and everyone wants to help the environment, you are instrumental in this ecological system.
